Hello everyone! I am Alan Psalidas. I am currently working on getting my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Indiana University South Bend. I have been a high school English teacher for the past 8 years working with a variety of students and garnering quite a bit of insight. However, I feel like my passion for teaching has really been a passion for helping, and I am looking forward to being a counselor so that I can help people on more of a 1-on-1 basis instead of a class of 32! My years teaching and analyzing literature has allowed me to establish a unique perspective of the world around me and make connections that others may not see. In my approach to therapy, I am an eclectic mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Analytic, and Person-Centered. While I do not have much experience in a counseling office, I do have a large amount of experience guiding students through life obstacles inside and outside of the classroom. I hope to create a safe environment for you to be able to take a critical look at any problems you face and explore different components of your life that allow you to find meaning. We always have a chance to look inward, discover new things about ourselves, learn from them, and continue moving towards a fulfilling life.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your goals!
