My name is Daniel Guzman Jr, I am the youngest of four children to the founders of Cornerstone Family Therapy. I am in the process of changing the dynamic of my life to follow my main aspiration and goal in life, to help people. In my three years of work experience I have always strived to learn and grow as much as possible while being able to access an abundance of resources both professional and personal. I started working in fast food at age 15, became a Manager at 16, and was on the verge of becoming an Assistant GM at age 17 as age was the only thing preventing me from moving further. I was not passionate in just serving the guests and moving on with my day; but the food industry provided me with a multitude of experiences. Like being able to learn a variety of new faces everyday. I was able to put smiles on faces everyday with my quirky personality, and able to give guests my best even if they didn’t notice is what made my day everyday.
Life has had an abundance of unexpected twists, turns, and problems for me but ultimately has made me a better person. As of right now, at age 18, I have finally decided to start to follow in my mother’s footsteps and join the Cornerstone family. It is a completely different feeling from what I’m used to but at the same time it feels as if I have made the right decision with this change. You will most likely see me at the front desk supporting where I am needed and greeting you as you check in. While I’ll be learning as much as I can, doing as much as I can, and spreading smiles whenever I can while following my dreams to becoming a therapist. I’m not exactly sure on how I am going to do it, I’m not sure the criteria I want to focus on, and I’m not sure how long the journey will be. All I know is that I care about supporting others in need unconditionally and I am willing to follow the journey that my heart is telling me to follow. This is my first step, the first brick being placed, the very first Cornerstone of my journey.
