My name is Madison Wrisley, and I received my Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University South Bend. To me, counseling is first and foremost about cultivating a relationship and environment built on trust, authenticity, and safety. I embrace an eclectic approach, incorporating cognitive behavioral techniques, neurodivergent affirming therapy, Internal Family Systems ideologies, meaning-centered therapy, and a person-centered perspective.
My goal is to meet each client where they are and devise a treatment plan tailored to their unique needs. I believe that clients are the experts on their own lives, and I approach our work together with humility and respect for their experiences and insights. Their progress and journey is unique to each of them, I’m just here to walk that path by their side!
As a lifelong learner, I am committed to continuous growth, regularly engaging with new methodologies through reading and attending trainings. Client feedback is invaluable to me, guiding my development as both a person and a clinician. I strive to create a relationship that fosters open, honest communication that allows my clients to speak freely about their needs.
I am open to incorporating alternative techniques into our sessions, such as music, art, video games, movement, stories, metaphors, and play, to support the therapeutic process. One of my favorite quotes is, “Nothing changes if nothing changes.” I understand that therapy can be challenging, and my clients know that when they are ready to make change, I will be right there with them.
